World Record Rugby Shirt Collection

Robertsbridge RFC is attempting to create a new world record in order to assist in the establishment of their own clubhouse and pitch. This would play a major part in securing the future of community rugby in our area. I am writing to you on behalf of the club to ask if you could provide some assistance.

We are not asking for funds, merely one of your club shirts. The idea is to obtain as many rugby shirts as possible from clubs of all sizes from all over the UK and abroad in an attempt to create the largest collection of shirts in the world. An approach would then be made to the Guinness World Records organisation to register the collection as a world record. This would provide the opportunity for huge amount of media publicity for our objectives and greatly assist our fund raising activities. Such publicity in the press and on TV and radio would allow us to extend our appeal and would result in potential sponsors approaching us.

Having established the collection, we anticipate the shirts would also raise funds for our project by displaying them at various rugby functions including international events and possibly even selling the entire collection to a commercial venture.

If you can help us in this project we would be most grateful. Funds are difficult to raise especially for small clubs in rural areas who have no income generators such as clubhouses. With your help we can change this and establish a home for Robertsbridge Rugby. One team shirt is all we request. If you are able to support our project please send the shirt to me at the address at the bottom of this page. And if you have contacts in other clubs, especially foreign clubs, please spread the word for us.

Thank you in advance of your support. On behalf of all at Robertsbridge RFC may I wish you and your colleagues the very best in the current season.
